Food Safety Web is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of visitors to our Web site and of users of our listserves and other interactive forums. Food Safety Web is the name we use to refer to our entire company, even though our formal corporate name is Food Safety Web Specialists. When we refer to ourselves as "we" or "Food Safety Web," we mean our company, Food Safety Web Specialists. This privacy policy applies only to the Food Safety Web Internet services. Our Internet services include our Web site, listserves, virtual communities and interactive forums, and other Internet-based features. We are not responsible for how other Web sites treat your privacy once you leave our site. Food Safety Web does not release Internet addresses or provide any other personal information to any third party.

Food Safety Web provides listserves and other interactive forums. We provide suggested guidelines for appropriate and acceptable behavior while engaged in these electronic forums, and ask each participant to follow the guidelines when entering into any Food Safety Web-sponsored listserve or interactive forum.

Information We Collect and How We Use It

Visitors to our Web site can access the site and browse it without disclosing any personally identifiable information. To monitor site usage and improve the quality of our Web site and other Internet services, we gather general information about our users. We do not track individual users' visits to our Web site. Sponsorship data, such as your credit card details, is collected only to process a transaction and is sent and stored in an encrypted format. Reasonable measures are taken to ensure your payment information is not vulnerable to theft or interception. We will not store or distribute your payment information in a manner that is not necessary for processing a transaction. Our payment services provider, PayPal, is also committed to maintaining the security and privacy of your personal information. Listserves and Other Interactive Forums

When subscribing to a listserve or other interactive forum, we will retain your email address on our behalf. However, Food Safety Web will not rent, sell, give or trade email addresses or any other information you have disclosed to third parties. When you post a message to a listserve on our site, your user name and email address are available for all subscribed members to see. In addition, anyone who accesses the list archives, which are open to the public, can view your user name, email address and message. You should not post any information to our listserves that you want to keep private. It is a condition that when participating in a listserve or other interactive forum, you do not:

• Restrict or inhibit any other user from using the service

• Post or transmit any information, software or other material which contains a virus or other harmful component
• Post, or transmit, or in any way exploit any information, software or other material for commercial purposes which contains advertising, promotions or marketing

By sending a message through the listserve, you grant Food Safety Web the non-exclusive right and license to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print, and use such information. Food Safety Web reserves the right to terminate your access to, and use of, the listserves and interactive forums if you do not abide by these conditions.

Use of Cookies

Cookies are a technology used by Food Safety Web to identify a user as the user moves through the Web site. Your browser allows us to place some information on your computer's hard drive that identifies the computer you are using. We use cookies to track your usage throughout our Web site.
